Thursday Night Gravel Rides

The Ride Bike Shop in Fairfield, Iowa hosts a weekly group gravel ride, typically held Thursday evenings at 5:30pm from late April through Labor Day weekend. After Labor Day, the ride shifts to Sunday afternoons and continues until weather conditions make it impractical, usually wrapping up sometime in November. Each week’s route, start location, and other details are posted on The Ride Bike Shop’s Facebook page.

Routes change from week to week, with short, medium, and long options to choose from. Most riders stick to the short or medium routes. Maps for each week’s routes are posted via Ride With GPS, with the short route generally ranging from 10–18 miles, medium from 15–25 miles, and long 25+ miles.

Free and open to everyone, on any type of bike—hybrid, gravel, mountain, and e-bikes are all welcome. Kids occasionally join too, riding alongside a parent or guardian.
